Privacy policy
Last updated: June 2025. This page is designed for counsel review and may be updated as the product evolves. It is not legal advice.
Mental Health Atlas is an informational resource and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.
What we collect
- Public listing data — facility and provider listings from public sources, state licensing, accreditation directories, and NPPES. See data sources.
- Optional feedback — if you submit feedback, we may store your message and optional name/email. Do not submit private medical information.
- Minimal analytics — anonymous session IDs, coarse search categories (e.g., condition slug, state), and product events such as page views and button clicks. We do not store raw search text that may contain sensitive health details.
What we do not collect
- Diagnoses, medical records, or treatment history through public forms
- Insurance member IDs, dates of birth, or Social Security numbers
- IP addresses for analytics (by default)
- Third-party advertising or remarketing pixels on care-search pages
- Cross-site behavioral tracking or sale of sensitive health data
How we use data
Feedback is used to improve listings, search, and product features. Analytics help us understand which filters and states are used — not what any individual searched for in free text. We do not sell personal information or sensitive health data.
Retention
Target retention: analytics events ~365 days; feedback submissions ~730 days. Published listing data is retained while resources remain active and source-attributed.
Deletion requests
To request deletion of feedback that includes your contact information, contact us via the contact page. Include the email address used in your submission if applicable.
Care navigator
Care navigator answers are not stored in our database by default. Coarse categories (e.g., concern type, state) may be logged in anonymous analytics if you complete the flow.
